Inspection Criteria
General for all Ladders/ Fixed stairs:
- Steps are not loose, cracked, bent or missing
- Metal steps are covered with nonslip material/ tread
- Steps are clean and free of grease and oil
- Free of splinters, burs or sharp edges
- Nuts, bolts, rivets, etc. are in place and tight
- Hinges and spreaders are not loose, bent or broken
- Labels are not missing and legible
- Shoes are not broken or missing
- No rust or corrosion
- Outriggers are not missing or damaged if equipped
- Ladder has not been modified outside of Manufacturer specifications
Extension Ladders:
- Rungs are not loose, cracked, bent or missing
- Ropes and pullies are in good condition
- Internal Guide brackets are not broken, cracked or missing
- External Guide brackets are not broken, cracked or missing
- Rung locks are not loose, bent, missing or broken
Step Ladders, Podium ladders:
- Tops are not cracked, loose or missing
- Platform is not cracked or bent
Rolling ladder:
- Vertical bracing is not loose, cracked, bent, uneven or missing
- Platform is not loose , cracked, bent or uneven
- Castors are not broken, housing not damaged, wheels work properly
- Handrails/ Guardrails are not loose, cracked bent or missing
